  1. Let me explain a bit more thoroughly. There wouldn't be a currency spending limit per character, because that is much too complicated. So we would decide as staff on a common ground for the stats. In a hypothetical situation, primary stats could be limited at 1m each, then secondary stats like AP and SP could be capped at 2m. Anyone who is currently over the limits would be reimbursed per stat per character with a different stat or different custom items, but the staff would have to discuss this more carefully if this happens to be the outcome. These limits are just hypothetical at this point, but we could implement a cap based on the general population's average stats in each field, or figure another way to compute it. Devs and Admins wouldn't be affected by this kind of ruling, but new rules would be added for us that would disallow the use of over-capped characters in PvP. If we reduced the stats by a percentage, we would also reduce the stats you can purchase per dollar amount. In other words, the value of the stats remain unchanged if we were to reduce by some percentage. This would in no way effect value of the stats you may purchase, simply a server-wide nerf. Say we reduce by 30%, that 30% reduces my resistances by 30%, and the amount you can purchase per dollar by 30%. So here is a math example: 1000 resists is reduced to 700 resists, and the value of resists is at 100 per $1, which would be reduced to 70 per $1. The value remains unchanged. Yes, this is essentially similar to Reaper's Stat-Slash.
  2. We have been working on new content, and I have been watching the community go through the content. The first thing I had noticed is the high donors helping people out. I love the happiness of our community at this point and I would love to see more community involvement. All this being said, there are some complications that we have ran into regarding the stats that some donors have purchased. We cannot develop any stronger content for the high donors that would prove slightly challenging, nor can we develop content that would provide a good experience for both non-Donors and Donors. There are a few options that Ryan and I talked over, and the conclusion of options will be as follows: Stat reduction by a percentage would allow us to create content that isn't pushing on the health capacity of creatures and bosses, and creatures will be able to last more that 10 seconds in a boss fight. We would be able to reduce the value of the dollar/stat in our custom store, which would keep the value of all your custom added stats while lowering the total. Installing a stat limit would allow us to put a physical cap on anything you could purchase so that we can still design content around those caps. This would probably be the most troublesome being that players with already over-stat-cap stats would need to be changed or moved somewhere else. The last option would be to do nothing, which would cause a great deal of trouble for the community to play in the general content areas on Eternian. World bosses like BM would take 16 minutes for nonVIPs and 10 seconds for high donors, and there is nothing more we can dish out to work with everyone. Most importantly, we cannot do anything without a majority rule regarding this poll or the opinions of our community. Please speak up and let yourself be heard!
  3. I think I know what you are talking about. Adding spells or morphs to items like they had been will be no easy task. Persisting through death has to deal with the spell in the core, which cannot be changed. I will talk to the team about what we can manage with these player morphing items. Stonecore was nerfed last night, all creatures hit for 30% of what they used to. Bosses that had 90000 armor now have 15000 armor. Main creature life was reduced as well to 45m, down from 100m. This is to scale down from the 60m for creatures in BFD. BRD will get done when SC is completely tweaked.
  4. Today it was brought to our staff meeting: Staff may not use special spells on players, so if a staff member is using special, non-class or non-generic, spells on players in an abusive matter please address it by reporting it in the Report Player/GM forum section. Secondly, with the new content recently added, it has come to our attention that some newer rules may need to be released to the public to avoid any confusion. IceCold-WoW has a general rules list here, which do apply, but there are special rules related to recent events and content. Please read the below CAREFULLY. As a general rule, GRIEFING players or staff is now going to be our general punishable offense. Define it: Player/Staff offending another player/staff to an excessive extent, to which the person is feeling uncomfortable, damaged or unsafe. Examples: This could be unavoidable harassment, forced targetting, or other forms of intentional damage to a player's ability to play without negativity. Be aware, stealing the tag of creatures in farming zones, just for the shear pleasure of taking something from someone else is Griefing. Camping may be considered harassment, if it specific to one person for a prolonged period. Reports with screenshots are always preferred for this kind of behavior. The punishments for Griefing include two categories: - Physical Grief - First Offence: 30 minute Character Ban Second Offence: 2 hour Account Ban Third Offence: 12 hour Account Ban Fourth Offence: 24 hour Account Ban Last Stage: 7 day Account Ban (the last stage will be the same punishment for every offence after 4 offences) - Verbal Grief - First Offence: 30 minute Mute Second Offence: 2 hour Mute Third Offence: 12 hour Account Ban Fourth Offence: 24 hour Account Ban Last Stage: 7 day Account Ban (the last stage will be the same punishment for every offence after 4 offences) I was asked to address sniping in the arena. The matter was discussed and sniping is reportable, and punishable as an unfair advantage over other players. Here is an escalation of the punishments: - Sniping - First Offence: Warning and/or Kick Second Offence: 30 minutes Character Ban Third Offence: 2 hour Character Ban Fourth Offence: 12 hour Character Ban Last Stage: 24 hour Character Ban (account ban may be considered) (the last stage will be the same punishment for every offence after 4 offences)
  5. Update March 15th, 2015 Guild services have been added to the Gilneas Mall, friendly to both factions. No need to find them in main cities. A new world boss, Battlemaiden Shyvra'Kar has been created and is under Magic Stone > World Bosses > Battlemaiden Shyvra'kar. Two new daily quests were added for killing Corrupted Phoenix and the Battlemaiden. Rewards are to be seen in-game.

  9. Sounds like sex in my ears. I will have more of this.
  10. Update March 09, 2015 The first set of Bind on Account weapons was released yesterday night. The quest is available once a week per character in the mall, just talk to Olaf and he will let you know what to do. Changes may be made via suggestion. Changes to the spells for creatures in BFD were made today as well. All of them were scaled up a bit and the heals that some of the creatures use were lowered.
  11. This is more than likely the reason why. How did you even manage to set it to 4.1? Your client should be @ 4.0.6 and your account should be as well. I am surprised that you are even able to load certain areas without crashing. Go here to change it to WotLK, save it, then go back and change it to Cataclysm. This doesn't have to deal with a player breaking rules, I will move this to help & support.
  12. What is that, Christmas music? GIVE ME BACK MY 3 MINUTES!
  13. I worked on the creature placement and patrolling creatures in BFD. Will worked on the stats, models, and scripts of the creatures. Kickspeed helped scale down the drop rate after Ryan set the creatures up with it. I am not doing all the work here. I would do more if I had DB access, which I do not have at this moment. A majority of staff have taken a new stance and are working hard on newer ideas and work so players can enjoy more content. As James said it, Kenny said it, I will say it: We have plans to scale all dungeons to a soloable setup so that farming is easier, but not too weak for one person to take care of a gear set in 6-10 runs of a dungeon. The Developers are doing things without my help, I am just trying to keep it consolidated to something we can release.
  14. BLACKFATHOM DEEPS The poll was implemented to see what the community likes and dislikes about Blackfathom Deeps, our newly introduced instance for upgrading armor and weapons. I would love to hear some additional input as to what we can fix with BFD, and what we can add to it. My goal is to make the instance as clean and immersive as possible. Tell me some thoughts about our work after a quick vote! Some ideas could be adding more diverse creatures, adding different weapons and equipment to creatures, and etc.
  15. Blackfathom Deeps is released as of Thursday. For upgrades from Ice Warden's Gear VIII to IX, and Weapon III to IV. More updates and fixes coming soon. Work has begun on a newer, better, version of the Deathwing world boss. This is one of many planned world bosses. Work has begun to replace the current Deathwing world boss with another world boss with much more powers and a different model. Stay tuned for more work! -[ice-E] HGM Space

  19. Here's some insight for everyone, and a bit of a reply to some: I understand your frustration with Eternian's development. I can assure you that things will be speeding up within this month. New content will be done and released by about Thursday, that is, Ice Warden's Gear IX. X will come shortly after, and Glacial will cap us off after that. Weapons will receive tuning and several other things will get done within the next few months. Chip and I are here to work on things that make people happy. The whole idea of twinks is a great idea. Although it has been said that our scripts for some stats including haste and mastery will not scale down to the lower levels, so that the cap will remain the same or it will cause huge issues with lower levels like 70 and 80. As soon as we complete Eternian's farming system and most of it is tuned for newer players, I will be working on new content with the team. Thank you for your suggestions and advice. Thank you all for your feedback and opinions. Keep it rollin in.
  20. I very much like this idea. I already have plans to create 4 sets of BoA gear for voting. I may also include an instance where you can find these first sets of BoA gear. It should be upgradable to much more useful gear. I will keep in mind some more items and currencies for trading, or BoE gear similar to how Reaper has all their gear up to Ravaged as BoE. Thank you for your suggestion! I would like to implement a world boss soon. Soon for me would be something I will work on after we finish working on the Ice Warden's gear VIII - X, then to Glacial. Keep tuned within the next month for some new updates.
