  2. 1. Thank you for the event suggestions. We are making balance changes to our Halloween and Christmas event items. 2. I plan to add damage caps to every boss in firelands and focus most of the loot around them rather than generic material drops so a gear restriction shouldn't be required but we will consider adding one if needed. 3. This is planned. I don't know when it will release though as we are working on other projects right now. 1. We are looking for other ways to provide a permanent damage buff to hunters (and feral druids) so we don't need to over-buff items, this will only be done as a last resort. 2. A lot of this would require custom modifications to the existing transmogrification system or a custom scripted system which we are not willing to work on right now. 3. Honestly not sure if the Obelisk will be a Halloween event thing or a special timed event later on. A small note on mastery - I'm currently testing a new mastery cap system which would allow us to add a different cap for each class if needed. This would mostly apply to Warriors as it does need to be reduced.

  4. This could be cool. I've been working more with c++ starting with this year's Halloween boss so we could probably make something like that. Event items will probably be nerfed around the time we do the Christmas event. They will be brought down to current non-event BiS levels. VIP Mall rework - Agreed. It's basically a weird mix between custom stuff and the old npcs. Faction change - I would have to talk to the owner about this one since it is a store product. Personal loot will be added to duskwood and Heights of Heaven. Those morph ids should work here. I'd like to expand our vote rewards so the more ideas the better.
  5. I will be implementing the following suggestions shortly after our Halloween event goes live: Fix VIP enchant vendor. Add Savory Deviate Delight, Orb of the Sin'dorei, Pygmy Oil, Dartol's Rod of Transformation, Gnomeregan Pride, Darkspear Pride to vote vendor. Price: 5VPs & unlimited usage. Add Faction neutral mailbox to profession mall. Other suggestions which require larger projects will be announced/released at a later date.
  6. This is something I have considered for a long time, and in the last few months I've been slowly working on a complete rebuild of eternian. I have not decided if I will go through with it or not though. I will share more on it if I get it to a good state and see how players feel about it
  7. I think all of the vendor data is still there, we just need to fix the multivendor entries so it shows up properly. I’ll try to get some of these changes out this weekend

  9. Probably. I was going to remove the zone entirely but we could use it for a Christmas event. I have plans to convert our world bosses to proper c++ scripts(excluding Ga'liger as he already uses a script) so I will look into changing the MG drop values around the time I make the scripts.

  14. Neltharion(Deathwing) Changed mobs to something that fits the Deathwing theme. Added a new daily quest to kill Deathwing. Rewards are 2 IceGold Bars and 5 transmog tokens. VIP Dungeon All npcs now deal less damage and have less armour. Illustrious Zone Imported some balancing work that was left out from the last update.
  15. Hello! This is the first of many updates designed to bring Reaper back from the dead and eventually create new content for the realm. This thread will also serve as a changelog for future updates. When we started Reaper's upgrade to 4.3.4, we wanted it to stay as a "classic" realm so players could come back and experience the realm as it was before Project Fire. This was clearly not a good fit for our population at the time and things quickly died out. Eternian's development server is currently undergoing some maintenance so I saw this as a good opportunity to revisit things and attempt to bring Reaper back to life. As stated in the beginning of this post, we will be releasing several updates to achieve that. This first update is a large content balance update to fix up the current content a bit and make things better for a smaller population. Update Notes:

  17. Hello Eternian, I am happy to announce the dungeon revamp has been released! Here is a basic outline of what will change: The following dungeons have been completely re-balanced: Forge of Souls Dragonmaw Hold Halls of Origination Shadowfang Keep Halls of Lightning Stratholme Hellfire Ramparts Stonecore Blackfathom Deeps The Botanica Icecrown Citadel Bastion of Twilight Grim Batol Some gear changes have also been made: Ice Warden and Glacial sets now show current and total upgrades. As mentioned in a previous announcement, Ice Warden 6+ is no longer obtainable. Players will be able to upgrade their old IW gear into Glacial with no requirement cost. Frozen Weapon upgrades have been replaced with the Bastion of Twilight weapons in the same fashion. Glacial upgrades now start in Stratholme. This is to spread out the Bastion of Twilight upgrades and help players get started faster. Upgrade requirements for Ice Warden and Glacial sets updated. Upgrade requirements for IW weapons updated. Proper upgrades for wands added. Fixed some stat errors.

  19. Dear IceCold community, We have been pretty quiet on what will be happening to the realm when it comes to new content. I just wanted to assure any concerned players that development is still ongoing. I will admit it is fairly slow due to real world events having an impact on manpower, I am still putting in time whenever possible. Sorry we've been so quiet... So, what's happening to Eernian? When will new content come out? Our main focus right now is getting the dungeon work we promised would come after the gear changes finished, this is almost done. All that's left is to finish up Bastion of Twilight balance and move on to Grim Batol, as well as testing for any bugged upgrades. The goal of the dungeon revamp is to rework all of the main IW/Glacial dungeons to be more solo friendly, in order to achieve this we are significantly reducing the health and damage values for each dungeon, and changing when players obtain the base Glacial set. Glacial gear will now be obtained in Stratholme. This will allow new characters to get started faster and solve the main issue in Bastion of Twilight by spreading out the upgrades. Players with Ice Warden VI-X gear will be able to replace their old gear with Glacial via item upgrade. I can't say exactly when the dungeon rework will go live as I said things are slow, I'll make sure to let everyone know when we get closer to a release. We have two new special dungeons planned, Vortex Pinnacle and Gruul's Lair (VIP) Vortex Pinnacle will be Diablo themed much like our custom Ragefire Chasm dungeon, only this time it will be based on a demonic invasion of the high heavens. It will contain upgrades for DoH items, and a Tabard upgrade. This will likely come out some time after the dungeon rework. Gruul's Lair is still in planning, we're not 100% sure about the details yet, just that it will have some form of special VIP only gear. Some smaller things are also in the works. new mall, world boss changes, and maybe a rework to our Renown system which will be discussed at a later date.
  20. Our main focus right now is getting the base non-vip sets to a level we're comfortable with. There won't be any changes to the vip sets right now, but we do have a VIP dungeon in the works. I'm not sure about the account bound materials. I'm hoping all of the changes we have planned will make things easier to gear alts so we don't need to make that change. We will see what happens in the future and make any changes as needed.
  21. WORK IN PROGRESS - ALL NOTES SUBJECT TO CHANGE!! Hello Eternian, We have been working on some pretty big changes over the last while, things like DoT buffs, a new mall, new stair event, some new world boss drops, but more importantly - a large rework of Non-VIP items. I am feeling pretty good about the changes, so I figured I should talk about it a bit and make our intentions as clear as possible. We are doing this because it's simply too hard to balance new content around how things are currently. It's nearly impossible to make "hard" content actually feel challenging without adding a bunch of damage reduction or making creatures take out players in one or two hits or adding some insane grind to the upgrades. Yeah the high damage output might be nice, but it's extremely unhealthy for the server in the long run if we want to continue making better content. I know some people might see this as a negative thing, I can assure everyone that's not the case. We all want what's best for the server, and I believe some major changes are required in order to achieve our long term goals. Here are some of the planned updates: Glacial upgrade reduced to just one (from 5) any old glacial items will upgrade into updated versions. Meta sockets on Glacial+ gear reduced to one per piece. Shadowsbane will likely be changed to two meta sockets. I am still figuring out what to do with that set. Stat changes to all Non-VIP sets - this includes significant reductions of Attack Power and Spell Power on items, stamina reductions, and more I'm not ready to announce just yet. Weapon speed caps - Non-VIP One handed weapon speed will be capped around 3.0, Two handed weapons will cap at 3.6, Event weapons will likely cap at 4.0 as they are special and not available all the time. I will add more to this list as we get closer to a release. Along with the item revamp I plan to rework most of Eternian's content to make up for the loss of player damage. This will include npc damage/health value reductions and changes to upgrade material drop rates and upgrade requirements, I just think the numbers are too high there, so we're going to lower a things a bit so it makes more sense. A good portion of the Ice Warden dungeons will be able to be done solo but do keep in mind things will get harder as you progress through the dungeons. There will be a new quest line for players to complete, which rewards a legendary item(weapon?) that can be upgraded through the quest. It will take you through all of the main IW dungeons. My goal is to reduce the amount of grind that goes into certain upgrades, Especially Bastion of Twilight. While also making things somewhat challenging and rewarding. None of this is final and is subject to change. Lastly, I've heard a lot of feedback on live and I'm confident this is a step in the right direction. We have a lot to do and this is just the beginning. Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us and supported the server all this time. We are hard at work trying to make Eternian great again. This will likely release in two stages - Stage 1 will release on or before January 13th and will contain the gear changes. Stage 2 will release a few days after and will contain dungeon and upgrade changes.
  22. I would love to fix it as well. However, Earthquake has some core problems which I am unable to look at myself. I will see if the owner can make a fix for it.
  23. Hello, little late with this one but here are my plans for Eternian moving forward. After some time away I have returned as a developer for Eternian, this should allow me to focus more on the content side of things... I have plans to make a third challenge dungeon, this will most likely be Tempest Keep, I have not planned out all of the details just yet so that is all I'm able to share about my next project. This is designed to be the last one, but I am open to making more if players want more of that. between major releases I will be slowly revamping old content. Starting with some world bosses and moving to IW dungeons and whatever else needs work. I hope to have content out on a fairly regular schedule, this can of course change if things get in the way, but that's the plan at least. One last thing, the reduction to DoT ticks per second didn't have the impact on casters I was hoping for, in an effort to remedy this, I will be looking at trying to fix channeled spells. I would love to hear player's thoughts on this, please feel free to provide feedback or PM me if you have any concerns. EDIT: The following channeled spells are working on the dev realm: Mind Flay, Divine Hymn, Hymn of Hope, Mind sear, Drain Soul, Drain Life, Hellfire, Rain of Fire, Blizzard, Arcane Missiles, Hurricane. They tick normally, as you would with no haste. I believe this is good as the aoe spells would be too strong if they ticked like the other spells. I will be buffing spell damage/healing to make up for this a bit.
