The vote shop is where you spend your vote points. Use your teleporter to go to the vote shop.

have you tried wow repair?

There should be a starter gear vendor there that gives you your gear for free, no gold needed.

Casting spells automatically I think is not possible and making it similar to hunters seems too OP to me. Hunters auto shot does a baseline damage the same as auto attack melee. One thing I think could be done is make casters wands that match the approximate damage as an auto attack. This way you could start auto attacking (shooting) someone with a caster, then start casting spells to do the real damage. Shooting a wand is covered under the max haste and auto attacks, it just doesn't do much damage right now.

This isn't really breaking news.

Due to the low population, the number of vips and the class imbalance it is almost impossible to get a pickup group together for a full instance (PVE). Couple that with very limited and low gear drops and it is no wonder why people dont persue groups more often. Imagine as a non-vip toon trying to get the ashbringer sword. It could take forever to get it to drop and as soon as one person get theirs, they would probably bail. It just doesn't seem to work here.

I am still pushing the daily quest idea. I made the suggestion somewhere else here and it was a hit but nothing I know of has become of it. Last I remember, you can complete up to 25 daily quest per day. I would like to see a slough of daily quest with varying levels of difficulty for vips and non-vips with different level of gear. Obviously the more difficult, the better the reward. I would really prefer daily quests. It would be a lot more dynamic and fun over grinding the same monsters in a dungeon. It would also give me a reason to log on each day to accomplish something. Gives everyone another way of obtaining gear over time.

I would just like to add, though I didn't get any SS of this I did witness the hacking. I was in the WSG when this guy hacked. As soon as the game started he had the flag and literally capped 3-4 seconds later.

Spawn Camp rule needs revised/enforced
fireguywtc replied to fireguywtc's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Okay, I appologize for being vague, it was not intentional. I have just been trying to paint the best picture I can. First off, the person that keeps defending their position in this thread is not the one I am talking about. I don't know their in-game name but I don't think I have ever had a problem with them. I just think that they are not seeing my point of view correctly. I am also not talking about waiting for the arena boss, I could care less about it. I go to the arena like everyone else pvp. Imagine this scenario, you are in the arena having a good time pvping with a few players when someone comes along and kills you every time you respawn. After about three times in thirty seconds it is considered spawn camping and the system is supposed to kick/ban the player. Take that same scenario and add two other players near you that also get spawn killed with you and everything is ok. VIPs have the power spawn camp multiple players at once and that is okay according to the GM's. I am not asking at all to nerf the killing power or gear of the VIPs. I like stuff the way it is and don't mind being one shotted by VIPs. I think that if a player is spawn killing multiple players in the arena at the same time it should be considered spawn camping the same as if they were doing it to one individual and thus result in a kick or ban. I hope it is clear now. When this kind of thing happens, myself and the others that keep getting spawn killed cannot enjoy the arena. There is just no way to get around it and I have to leave. How is that fair? I have tried moving to a different part of the arena and even exiting the arena ring and I get followed and killed. In sum, I think rule#11 is too vague and needs revised to deal with the problems in the arena. The auto spawn camp system cannot detect this. Spawn killing one player alone is considered spawn camping and I think spawn killing multiple players needs to be considered spawn camping also. This will require manual enforcement from the GMs. One last thing for the staff to consider. I wouldn't be quick to just take the sides of the VIPs in this one. Many people come to the server as non-VIPs to test the waters. If their experience is a bad one, they may choose not to donate and move on to somewhere else. -
Spawn Camp rule needs revised/enforced

Vordnox, you are right that VIP's pay and deserve that much power (gear wise). That is not my argument here. I fully expect to get owned every time I battle a high level VIP, thats just the nature of this server. But with that great power comes some responsibility. My argument is when does the killing (spawn camping) stop being innocent fun and become an abuse of that power. 3 kills, 5 kills, 10 kills ect.? A line needs to be drawn. VIP's spend the money for the power to be able to fight and win against almost anybody, but not the right to abuse people. -
Spawn Camp rule needs revised/enforced

Here is the thing and try to look at it from my perspective, or others in my position. I like to pvp and I want to come to the arena to have a good time and play the game as you pointed out. I have been doing that here for over a year now with almost no problems. Due to the nature of this server and the vast dffferences in gear, VIP's yeild a great amount of power of non-VIP geared players. I don't mind dying a few times and having VIP's kill me, but when someone gets it in their head that they want to camp me or all the low geared players no matter where you go in the arena, it is no longer fun. High geared VIP's can kill lowgeared players almost instantly and you cannot fight back because they will kill a lowbie before they can be killed. I don't just want to come to the arena just to die by the same VIP every time I respawn. Don't give me crap about what is fair or unfair. VIP's have everything they could want. Killing somone over and over when they cannot defend themselves is selfish and I cannot imagine myself why that would be fun. I have learned to play by the rules, but I feel others have not. -
First off, I won't call out any names and try to keep it civil, but certain players on the server can kill a person as many times as they want as fast as they want in the arena with no recourse. I understand that the arena is for pvp combat but it becomes no fun for a player when they cannot respawn without dying seconds later, over and over. In my instance, I was in the arena and a high level VIP player would come along and kill me quickly, and as soon as I would respawn that player would come back and kill me again. I did not start the fighting nor did I ever fight back. The player can do this as much as they wanted as quickly as they wanted as long as they would kill another player while I was waiting to respawn. I could easily be killed 4-5 times in less than 30 seconds. A game master was watching this and when I mentioned the even in world chat, reused to do anything. That GM stated that the killing was random because the VIP player was killing more then one person continuously. I think this work around of the spawn-camping rule is ridiculous and not fair. Any VIP player can kill as many low geared people as they want as fast as they want as long as they don't just kill one person continuously. Meanwhile the low geared players have no chance to play or compete in the arena. In my mind it is the same as spawn camping, just involves camping multiple players at once rather than one at a time. Rule 11 simply states: 11. Spawn camping is not allowed. If you are caught in the act you may be punished. Spawn camping reports must contain video proof. There is a 30 second wait limit. Please reconsider the spawn camping rule(s) as they apply to the players. The automatic spawn-camp system cannot fully protect everyone from all kinds of spawn camping and players are suffering from this experience. I am sure other players have had the same frustrating experience as I have and I hope that they will chime in here also.
-
it appears to get around the anti-camp rule a player can: 1. log out, vips have instant log 2. kill other players 3. be killed by another player other then the one they are spawn camping. I am sure the staff are aware of the work-arounds but I don't see much enforcement of the rule manually. I have not personally seen a GM warn, kick, or ban a player for spawn caming since the anti-camp program has been in place.
-
The anti-camp system is flawed and there are too many ways around it. I think there is been too much reliance on the anti-camp system to enforce the rule and now there are people using it to their advantage to spawn camp as much as possible.

I would like to see daily quest with either icegold or icegold bars as a reward. Perhaps either can be a reward depending on the difficulty of the daily quest. It would be nice to have some dungeons with (actual) bosses to clear on a daily basis to make grinding for equipment more fun and dynamic. Would be much better then endlessly grinding the same old mobs over and over. Also, I know it is difficult but I would like to see the classes balanced. It would be nice to see all the classes be able to compete fairly in PvP with the same level of gear. One possible idea is to up contribution on weaker classes, say priests for example, to make them more powerful and compete against some melee classes. Unfortunately I am not sure of any good ways without removing the max haste. Either way it is getting old seeing mostly paladins and only a few rogues, warriors, and hunters.

Its too bad there isn't another test server that mirrors Reaper so spells like Colossus smash could be tested to see their effects on other players. I don't like to see any classes get their spells taken away as it always seems to create a class imbalance. That is one of the impossible struggles to overcome on a custom funserver like this. Like most of you I would like to see full class balance so players can pick their favorite class and have a chance in battle against other similary geared players. It would be nice if all the spells that have been removed could to be re-evaluated to see if their use doesn't create a major advantage or problem like they did before the stat-slash.

To farm honor on retail you have to do BG's quite a bit, just one on one killing is slow, obviously. However, this server does not have enough players to really keep the battle grounds running and with vip's in the mix would not be very fun anyways. So it looks like the only dependable way to farm honor is to try and kill as many of the other faction as you can. I think the honor point prices of the PvP gear is meant to make that gear very difficult to obtain anyways.
-
Perhaps the cost of training could be reduced or eliminated. That always seems to be the biggest problem with custom XP rates is that people cannot get enough money to pay for training since the level too fast. In the grand scheme of things I don't think that will have any affect on the in game economy.

WoWstatus (the first site) is messed up again. Won't accept any capcha code even when its typed correctly. Is there a way for the average user to report problems to a vote site?
-
You are right Ryan, but it seems to take a long time to get it fixed. TopG has not been validating the vote for almost two weeks now that I am aware of. As far as I know, we have to depend on you as the icecold admin to bug them to fix it. Edit, I just voted at 7:40 PM central and all five sites worked for me.

I recall you playing on dreamer quite a bit during its short life and having fun with us. Its a shame we call each other friends and as soon as dreamer is closed, you can't wait to talk trash. Seems having fun at our expense is more important then making real friends.

A big thank you to IceCold-WoW Staff

Thanks for being patient and understanding. Thats a quality we don't find very often around here amongst the players. -
My hunter has full vote gear with two frostmourn of the beast. It took a long time but no vote hack is needed. It s a great way to get some good gear you just have to be patient. I am also currently back up to 99 votes. Think about it, if you voted every 12 hrs on the dot on all five sites, you can get about 300 votes per month.
