This can be done I guess. Won't be a high priority though. Also, for this to work we would first have to gather a lot of people. What he means by this is it doesn't exist in Cataclysm. Obviously it's possible, Blizzard did it. But is it feasable for us? I'll discuss it once more. I'm actually not sure about this. Will add it. Also won't be top priority though, we will keep players up to date via the forums. This would be a neat feature, but not necessary for the release.

All stats will be different, including the donated items. 2. I may have misunderstood this one. Do you mean "Don't make the entire set drop from 1 dungeon"? Or "Have multiple equal sets"? I'm not sure what you mean. We will be creating content aside the main gear challenge. And not just 1 world boss, we will have plenty of custom stuff. Eventually. 3. I understand your point and we will try to make it so that players will group up to run instances. My point is it will probably be really hard to ensure that high end players won't be able to solo the first few dungeons due to the big stat difference. If you can think of more ideas then please go ahead and post them. As I mentioned earlier in this post we will be adding plenty of custom content, ideas for this or anything else are very welcome.

You're not very good at making jokes. Also, get your facts straight if you choose to ridicule someone.

Basically, yea.

Tiny update on the suggestions. More to come.

Things that I will need to check or discuss, answers to come: If I missed anything in this or my previous post please don't hesitate to let me know. I'll appreciate it as much as you'll appreciate a decent answer.

Again my apologies for the lack of replies from my side. Here's a first list of answers. I'll try to answer as many of the other questions as I can in the days to come. I like it. It will indeed need some "spit and polish" and some of the mechanics might be a bit hard to implement, but it's a great base to work from. As I said in the other topic, we will be prioritizing the fundamental parts for now so we can release it as soon as possible. Meaning I'm not sure if this will be in the first release. I'll put it in a different format and throw it in the dev chat. Once I hear more I will let you know.

Are you getting any messages when you try? If so please post them here. Have you read the steps in the following link? Please be as complete as possible. It will only make it easier to find a fix. Also, next time, please start a new support topic. For now you can continue to answer to this topic.

First off, thanks. I don't see any harm in the things you said. Most of it is true as well. The main story line has been created already. It's basically done. Changes can be made but the story is there. Any side story lines are very welcome, but not necessary for the release. For now we are focusing on things that are required to create a good game experience at the release. Content updates to enrich the realm will be made after the release, but it's not a priority right now. Suggestions for these content updates are very welcome, as are suggestions for the fundamental parts. As for the upgrading, the gear has been worked on a lot. The sets are there, like you said. The stats may need some fine tuning, not my area of expertise to be honest. Unfortunately I'm not entirely sure if the names have been decided on yet. I think we're still looking for new names but I'm not sure. I'll let you guys know. A lot of exciting things have been going on lately, ensuring that Project Fire will be a great gaming experience. I've been going through dungeons and raids with Ryan, checking out what works and what doesn't and I've been positively surprised. Some things need fixing, and that takes time. But when it's done it will be a very complete gaming experience. As you all know any input is more than welcome. It's the reason the Reaper suggestion topic was turned into the official Project Fire suggestion topic. A while ago I said I would be keeping the topic up to date with the progression of Project Fire as well as the decisions that were made on the suggestions. I haven't done a great job at that and I'll make up for that. Today after I get home from work I will try to answer to every suggestion that was made so far. I will also try to provide you guys with a couple of teasers as I promised some days ago. Thanks for hanging in there and sticking with us. You won't regret it.

With all do respect, it's not up to a player to decide if the player gets warned or punished. That's up to the staff to decide. Whenever you see a player attacking a bugged mob it's always the right thing to report it. Doesn't mean he'll be banned right away, it means it will be dealt with. One way or the other. Players that join a WoW private server are usually well aware of the mechanics of the game, so if what you suggest might be the case he would still have known that something was wrong. He decided to go in for the kill rather than reporting it. Bug abuse. Players often state that they "weren't aware" or "it was already like this when I got here". That doesn't mean that you can just go ahead and take advantage of it. I'm guessing Dazanley dealt with this report so I'm going to close it. Thanks for all the input.
-
Fixed that for you. No problem at all. I hope we can provide you guys with some teasers soon. Sit tight.

A polish up of the server would basically mean keeping everything we have and just improving those things. To quote Ryan: We're not just improving what we have. Not at all actually. We're building an entirely new realm. Few things may carry over from the current Reaper, but if you're expecting to see an improved Reaper when you log onto Project Fire for the very first time you're going to be disappointed. If you expect anything other than that you'll be very pleased. The most important thing about Project Fire is the upgrade from 4.0.6 to 4.3.4 meaning new content. What has been posted so far is all true. no one's just ****ing around. Well I am sometimes :teehee: but never regarding Project Fire. All the suggestions that are decent and possible will be implemented. The Project Fire crew will decide on that together. These suggestions are just additions to the plan though. So we're not just adding suggestions, no. I'll talk to the crew working on Project Fire about releasing some teasers. I can understand you guys would like to see some of the work we've done. Don't get all excited when we release teasers though. We're not there yet.

Because "There" is too mainstream.

Okay so I know you're aware of project fire since you've posted there both on this account and on your main account. If you have suggestions that are actually useful please post them in the Project Fire suggestion topic. As for these suggestion: 1. I assume you mean the teleporter. It will have a new design. 2. I'll add this to the suggestion list and see what the rest thinks. Oh and for the love of god, please just type normal English. We all know you can, we all know who you are. This troll is getting old.

Regardless of how funny this may be, it's still topic revival.

Not sure if it's possible, I usually turn to iRyan with these ideas. Perhaps it's possible to lock players out if they have certain things equiped, for example custom bags. I know it's possible to lock players out if they don't meet certain requirements, no idea if custom items could be one of those requirements. Might be worth looking at. This way players wouldn't lose items as they would have to unequip the bags manually.
-
Not that I have anything to do with this, but why not implement a gear limit on certain areas? Like the Illustrious zone on Reaper. It doesn't allow players to equip vip gear. In my experience people just get pissed off after a statslash, especially if they paid to become as op as they are. Anyway, good luck with this. Hope you guys figure out the best option.
-
First off thanks for your suggestion. Always appreciated. We're currently working on a big project, Project Fire, which will change a lot of things. It's very unlikely that this will be addressed before the release of Project Fire. What I can tell you is that after the release there will be no more inviting for raids just to get inside. What this means exactly will remain a surprise for now. Other suggestions are more than welcome, in the Suggestions & Feedback section or in the Project Fire suggestion thread.

I only shoot first when you're involved. Definition of parody in English: noun (plural parodies) 1 An imitation of the style of a particular writer, artist, or genre with deliberate exaggeration for comic effect. Definition of imitation in English: noun 1 A thing intended to simulate or copy something else I'm not closing this. I never aim for the head when I shoot.

New player here . is the Cata server still active ?
Maddox replied to lugtop's topic in General Chat
That sure is weird. My realmlist.wtf looks like this and I can log in just fine: SET realmlist login.icecold-wow.com SET patchlist "localhost" I doubt the patchlist would make much of a difference, but give it a try. When you're trying to use the launcher, what are you trying exactly? And what error do you get? I wouldn't really know a quick fix for this, you can always try to re-install Rick -
The signatures look nice and all, but people do this for free. I used to when I still had the time. Anyway, good luck with that.
-
Can you provide us with a little more information? For example, what error code are you getting? Did you install Icecold by using the Icecold Launcher? Also, check out this link. It contains common error codes, might be useful. http://www.icecold-wow.com/topic/3744-all-error-codes-fix-help/
