That is just literally impossible. A realm cannot support two different major game versions like that. And 5.x on private servers is 18 - 24 months away at best.

It's not a new realm, it is testing a possible update for Reaper.

It's not bannable to ask or anything, but it is still something that would get deleted if people started discussing how to set up a server. For your particular situation we couldn't give any help because Ice's servers are all Linux based and totally different to windows. I would imagine there are tons of posts and wikis out there for help and troubleshooting like that.

The old theme was turned off to force all users onto the new one. It's the only way to get feedback on it so it can be improved quickly. If there are aspects or areas about the design you have trouble with, please do post in suggestions. You mentioned it being harder on your eyes, so post examples of what things you find hard to read, etc.

IRC is an idea, but would it really be useful at the moment? The Ventrilo is almost never used as it is. An IRC server could be just as dead.

I don't have any bad thoughts on MoP really. Some of the new stuff is pretty interesting. We would put up an MoP realm (as a new one, not upgrade Reaper), but not until there are viable stable cores to start with.

Well you could use the Reinstall feature on the launcher. It only downloads about 25mb of data to do it

Ingame upgradeable VIP gear like that is not in any plans. To make all the automation possible with the transfers and VIP level upgrades, it relies on everyone having the same stuff that is in the preview vendors. Adding things that start changing what VIP gear you have and you'll collapse the whole thing.

As most of you are already aware, IceCold-WoW had some under some persistent and moderately large DDoS attacks. This brought the gameservers down frequently and caused much disruption. Because of this, we were forced to invest in advanced DDoS firewalls to shield the game servers from further attacks. These have worked well and there has been no downtime since they were implimented. A side-effect of this system is that, at times, it may be slightly over-strict and interfere with some legitimate connections. Because of this, users in certain areas may experience occasional connection issues. This is normally in the form of inability to login, or frequent disconnections that are only happening to you. If this happens, the best advice we can give you is to login from a new IP address if possible (restarting router & modem often works), or wait a few hours before trying again. We are aiming to eliminate the issues affecting small numbers of people, but until then, bear with us :)
