Gathering and Professions Relying On It
MushyMoo replied to MushyMoo's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I don't want to waste time ... perhaps you lack reading comprehension or insight. Does it need to be spelled out for you? No one is looking for bugged things or to create more problems. This is a private server and if I wanted to simply farm at retail rates, I would play retail. You are correct, I want to make crit gems faster than 2 weeks per 20. A few people having them is irrelevant discussion since I have both a recipe and a means to make them... period! -

As it is, I can already farm for +3% critical damage increase gems and presently doing it now with plenty of ore and gems. This suggestions cuts my applied time down to a more reasonable and fun rate perhaps from two weeks per 20 metas to 1-2 days. -

Then go craft the recepies that require you to farm multiple-zones for ore or herbs. The time it takes you to fulfill recipie requirements is diminished with my suggestion allowing you to move onto other things in Ice-Cold that are far more fun. It is not fun to spend weeks gathering to either level a professions or craft with it. May be fun to you but I, for one, do not appreciate it. The point is not to kill time ... be logical in your arguments. I can kill time on many other things but I don't play Ice-Cold to kill time. This is a private server that does not have to emulate retail. Crafting a gathering profession helps much from Jewelcrafting to Alchemy there is plenty of benefit gained. -
Gathering and Professions Relying On It

Point is making it easier and more fun to level gathering-dependent professions. From a time point of view, I suggest time saved and the pain of zone-level gathering reduced to a common locality. This is how it helps me such that I would not be gathering ore two weeks in the running. Thus the benefit to myself and the server is time saved enjoying the server instead of time spent emulating retail boredom. -
For those who choose to level a gathering professions and especially required when developing a profession that relies almost exclusively on gathering, IceCold-WoW feels more retail than ever. It can be frustrating to locate ore veins and herbs within zones especially because, well this is not retail and actual locations of ore and herbs differ across zones. To alleviate this problem and make tthe process of gathering more fun (this is a private server right?) I suggest a location within WoW be chosen, perhaps a large cave, or a patch of unused grass in which ore veins and herbs are placed in abundance and within close proximity to each other and grouped by type to allow one-stop gathering.

Daily quest to grind Dalaran Jewelcrafters Tokens is bugged and quest giver is not rewarding them. Can I then be given the Relentless Earthsiege Diamond pattern off of Tiffany Cartier please becuase otherwise no way in the game to get it. This is unfortunate because not hard to grind a few jewelcrafters tokens in a few dialy quests. Problem is upon turning in a quest, the quest item is returned and there is no reward but money.

Why? No point to it and it causes some things to break even more or get even weaker. It has not drawn more players ot the server nor has it helped to increase playability. I never paid for project statslash as it was foisted upon me. I paid for a server with a previous core when the game was fun. Now the core has changed and statslash has become a bain of nearly everyone especially myself. There is no point to it and I dislike being killable by non-vips now. I dislike having twice the health of a nonvip when I had 100 times the health. This is ridiculous and pointless. Another change that has accomplished nothing but aggravation.

The Alphabet Game: Wrestling Edition - Version 1
MushyMoo replied to shadowzstep's topic in General Chat
This could be programmed into a neat game. Put names of wrestlers into a db and use a simple interface. -
getimba, you are not an authority I recognize so your opinion on what a spawncamp is is irrelevant; thank you for your post. However, while I am on the subject, if I define "spawnkilling" as killing someone and then killing them again where they respawn in a deliberate manner, you are guilty of the same. I look forward to proper clarification of this rule to avoid ambiguity.

Clarify the spawn-killing rule so it is no longer open to interpretation and who's interpretation is the correct one? Mine, yours, a GMs? Enough is enough. The rule, as it is stated, is not clear. What is spawnkilling? How many times is one allowed to kill? 3? 5? 7? 9? n(n-1)/2? If I wait 30 seconds between a kill is that ok? Can I rage and put their digital bits in the virtual dirt forever? Am I allowed to let them move? Too much ambiguity and I will provide a clear example. I was attacking Hudson on my mage Palladium when he killed me twice in a short span of time. I then proceeded to kill him once and he did it again, double-tap. Well what is my definition of a spawn kill? As I was told by an ex-GM: Kill once wait 30 seconds. What do you think Hudson's definition is? Probably kill twice but the third is a definite spawn camp. Since noone appeared to take exception to what Hudson was doing, I killed him twice and backed off. Well Hudson, being the champ he is, reported me for spawnkilling. So is it ok for Hudson but not me? Are we both wrong? I hope you get the picture with this example that there need to be a clear definition of what it is to spawn camp. I am also sure if a poll were conducted, there would be no less than 5 definitions.

Solution found. The wow-update-13800.MPQ had a file size of 0 and was labelled as wow-update-13800(1).MPQ indicating something was trying to download a new one but failed probably through the repair function. I downloaded form the internet through the forums of another private server a correct wow-update-13800.MPQ and my icecold.exe opens wow fine. Go here: http://forum.undamed-wow.com/showthread.php?t=51316 Download the file and put it in the wow root/data folder. Overwrite any existing files.

Interesting that IceCold.exe is asking for a disk to be put in the disc drive. When I select continue, Wow errors and I get this:

I am now having this same exact problem. I have tried to trouble shoot this as best I can. I deleted the IceCole.exe and IceColdLauncher.exe, redownloaded them, proceeded to remove both caches, ran the wow.exe to rebuild the cache, then proceeded to run the IceColdLauncher. WoW error. Is there a fix to this please?

Thank you all for your introductions.

Hello Ice-Cold, I am a new player to Ice-Cold. I came here to this server when a former private realm was having connectivity problems. As I had VIP 6 characters, I decided to support Ice-Cold. I now have two VIP 6 characters (Plat - Rogue) and (Platinous - DK). I enjoy this server and have met some great people. I also got to know some great GMs and see the owners of the game. Not often a server's owners are present in the same game with the players. One GM in particular I have spent time with is WraithGuard. We hung out, PvP'd against each other, and has helped root me on this server. I just wanted to send a special shout out to the IceCold staff and in particular WraithGuard.

I have asked for this before and was told a potential fix could affect the game for presumably non-VIPs and low0level VIPs. The current situation, however, is that every melee class is forced to fight like a rogue with ambush while spell casters have no such problem. If I paid the small fee to be a spell caster, I would not even write this suggested fix. If I were a spell caster, defenses mean nothing as spells have a guaranteed chance to hit modified by spell resistance and chance to hit. Melee however, unless possessing the ability to one-shot are at an extreme disadvantage .. unless a rogue. I happen to have a rogue but I also have a dk without shadowstep, backstab, etc. Please fix melee. That is my simple request. I would like to be able to hit from any direction on a VIP 6 modified by my hit. If I contrast with retail, no player has defensive stats high enough to to avoid frontal attacks.
