Glacial has been changed to have fewer but higher impact upgrades. So there's less upgrades in total (14 to 7) and they have higher stat increases per upgrade. Stats on the items have been re-distributed between the upgrades so base glacial has lower stats than before, the higher stat increase per upgrade means the current max upgrade is still mostly the same as before, so there's no major changes with the highest upgrade.

We were able to reduce the total upgrades from 14 to 7 as stated earlier, which means we were also able to cut some dungeons and use the rest for starter dungeons. New characters start with a regular starter set and will have to complete quests in the starter dungeons to get Glacial.

• Frozen Weapon upgrades have been replaced with the Bastion of Twilight weapons in the same fashion.
• Glacial upgrades now start in Stratholme. This is to spread out the Bastion of Twilight upgrades and help players get started faster.
• Upgrade requirements for Ice Warden and Glacial sets updated.
• Upgrade requirements for IW weapons updated.
• Proper upgrades for wands added.
• Fixed some stat errors.

We have been pretty quiet on what will be happening to the realm when it comes to new content. I just wanted to assure any concerned players that development is still ongoing. I will admit it is fairly slow due to real world events having an impact on manpower, I am still putting in time whenever possible. Sorry we've been so quiet...

So, what's happening to Eernian? When will new content come out?

Our main focus right now is getting the dungeon work we promised would come after the gear changes finished, this is almost done. All that's left is to finish up Bastion of Twilight balance and move on to Grim Batol, as well as testing for any bugged upgrades. The goal of the dungeon revamp is to rework all of the main IW/Glacial dungeons to be more solo friendly, in order to achieve this we are significantly reducing the health and damage values for each dungeon, and changing when players obtain the base Glacial set. 

Glacial gear will now be obtained in Stratholme. This will allow new characters to get started faster and solve the main issue in Bastion of Twilight by spreading out the upgrades. Players with Ice Warden VI-X gear will be able to replace their old gear with Glacial via item upgrade. I can't say exactly when the dungeon rework will go live as I said things are slow, I'll make sure to let everyone know when we get closer to a release. 

We have two new special dungeons planned, Vortex Pinnacle and Gruul's Lair (VIP)

Vortex Pinnacle will be Diablo themed much like our custom Ragefire Chasm dungeon, only this time it will be based on a demonic invasion of the high heavens. It will contain upgrades for DoH items, and a Tabard upgrade. This will likely come out some time after the dungeon rework.

Gruul's Lair is still in planning, we're not 100% sure about the details yet, just that it will have some form of special VIP only gear. 

Some smaller things are also in the works. new mall, world boss changes, and maybe a rework to our Renown system which will be discussed at a later date.

Hello Eternian,

We have been working on some pretty big changes over the last while, things like DoT buffs, a new mall, new stair event, some new world boss drops, but more importantly -  a large rework of Non-VIP items. I am feeling pretty good about the changes, so I figured I should talk about it a bit and make our intentions as clear as possible.

We are doing this because it's simply too hard to balance new content around how things are currently. It's nearly impossible to make "hard" content actually feel challenging without adding a bunch of damage reduction or making creatures take out players in one or two hits or adding some insane grind to the upgrades. Yeah the high damage output might be nice, but it's extremely unhealthy for the server in the long run if we want to continue making better content. I know some people might see this as a negative thing, I can assure everyone that's not the case. We all want what's best for the server, and I believe some major changes are required in order to achieve our long term goals.

Here are some of the planned updates:

• Glacial upgrade reduced to just one (from 5) any old glacial items will upgrade into updated versions.
• Meta sockets on Glacial+ gear reduced to one per piece. Shadowsbane will likely be changed to two meta sockets. I am still figuring out what to do with that set.
• Stat changes to all Non-VIP sets - this includes significant reductions of Attack Power and Spell Power on items, stamina reductions, and more I'm not ready to announce just yet.
• Weapon speed caps - Non-VIP One handed weapon speed will be capped around 3.0, Two handed weapons will cap at 3.6, Event weapons will likely cap at 4.0 as they are special and not available all the time.

I will add more to this list as we get closer to a release.

Along with the item revamp I plan to rework most of Eternian's content to make up for the loss of player damage. This will include npc damage/health value reductions and changes to upgrade material drop rates and upgrade requirements, I just think the numbers are too high there, so we're going to lower a things a bit so it makes more sense. A good portion of the Ice Warden dungeons will be able to be done solo but do keep in mind things will get harder as you progress through the dungeons. There will be a new quest line for players to complete, which rewards a legendary item(weapon?) that can be upgraded through the quest. It will take you through all of the main IW dungeons. My goal is to reduce the amount of grind that goes into certain upgrades, Especially Bastion of Twilight. While also making things somewhat challenging and rewarding.

None of this is final and is subject to change.

Lastly,  I've heard a lot of feedback on live and I'm confident this is a step in the right direction. We have a lot to do and this is just the beginning. Thank you to everyone who has stuck with us and supported the server all this time. We are hard at work trying to make Eternian great again.

This will likely release in two stages - Stage 1 will release on or before January 13th and will contain the gear changes. Stage 2 will release a few days after and will contain dungeon and upgrade changes.

With ICC, a new upgrade for Ice Warden gear is available. Glacial is about 30% stronger than IW X.

Trash mobs will drop a new currency called Glacial Shard, this will be used with Fine Iron and Frozen Orbs to upgrade X to Glacial, bosses will drop more than trash mobs.

Gunship is not working, you can skip it at the Scourge Transporter just after Lady Deathwhisper.

This was a huge project for our team, I hope everyone enjoys this. We have more content on the way.

With it comes 4 new Tabard and Shirt upgrades. Anguished, Damned, Vengeful and Tormented.

The dungeon is open to all players, it's pretty easy to do so you don't need a group to do it, but Diablo is pretty hard to kill.

Some bosses have a low chance to drop a unique Diablo themed weapon, there's only two right now but more could be added later.

There's also a quest that gives you a neck, collect souls from mobs and combine it with the Red Soul Shard you get from Diablo to finish the quest.

VIP's may now purchase Glyphs and Enchantments for Energetic Essences, which are farmed via the enemies of The Consortium. These enemies lie outside The Stormspire.

Several different creatures, which are not very powerful, shall grant you the Energetic Essences that you will need. They are on a short respawn time.

WARNING: This zone is for VIP's only, and the farming of these creatures on a non-VIP account will permit punishment.

After tedious testing and trial of all our work, we are proud to release The Botanica. Here you will seek out and kill each unique boss for your ability to upgrade your gear. This dungeon will send you to the start if you are defeated. So be careful, as it has that "retail" feel.

Some encounter information:

Unsightly Greenkeepers are the healer of the dungeon, providing healing to nearby monsters every second.

Infested Heros are the tanks of the dungeon, providing an aura to nearby monsters.

Crystalline Sentinels will be the bane of your existence here in The Botanica, beware.

Bosses:

Vilespew the Wretched - Poison, Shadow, and merely his dagger are his best friends. He may play games, but he is very serious about sinking that dagger into someone's back.

Gertrude the Traitor - Gas clouds and poison are her favorite weapons. Stay out of the clouds to avoid choking.

Vilelash - Be prepared for massive lashing and AoE effects. Lots of moving to avoid the hurty things.

Globbulous Maximus and Minimus - They are all friends and play cards on the weekends, nah but really they will devour you if your armor is weakened enough. Don't get up to 15 stacks of Acidic Splash, otherwise Maximus will devour you.

Weltraum - He seems to have a lot of power, avoid getting hit by the shadow abilities. This is the most dangerous encounter of the dungeon.

Are you prepared?

If you are currently on an account that was not yours to begin with, that is okay. However, if it ever changes ownership in the future, it will face the punishment listed above.

The Botanica

Be prepared to face an infectious slew of mobs, and a few bosses that are newly scripted to pwn you. More updates should be coming soon to keep you folks in-the-know.

Good ol' Strat was nerfed last night, by about 78%. Most NPC's had about 30000 armor, and now have within 10000 and 4500 armor. This will drastically nerf the creatures in Strat, and their health was reduced by 12 million. Go test it out, tell me what you think.

I was asked to address sniping in the arena. The matter was discussed and sniping is reportable, and punishable as an unfair advantage over other players. Here is an escalation of the punishments:

Last night, we experienced a series of realm crashes.

On behalf of the entire Staff, I would like to apologize for any inconvenience

it may have caused. We're currently trying to find out what's causing the crashes.

The only thing we know about them, is that if you enter one of our instances, the realm will crash.

All instance teleports in the Magic Stone, have been disabled.

Because of this, please do not enter any instances manually either.

Anyone doing the exact opposite, will face a ban.

Other than that, we once again apologize for the unpleasant experience.

We've also created a new, more common mall, in Shattrath, and corrected the player spawn location to be at the mall, in front of all of the class trainers. Any suggestions to add to this mall are always welcome via PM to myself.

Another rule we've just added.

SEVERE: There will be NO toleration for encouraging or harassing a player about self harm, suicide, or personal loss. There is no reason in any situation for this, and the first offense is a 24 hour mute. There is NO reason we should warn you about this. Any offences afterwards will result in a 7 day IP Ban, and on your 3rd offense, you will no longer be welcome on Eternian (Not sure about Reaper, currently), as we do not need anyone degrading another persons life over a video game.

If seen, please submit a screenshot to the forum, and there will be consequences given.

This guide is to improve the outcome quality when creating custom item requests, or re-customizing your customized items.

What you need:

Wowhead, your brain or calculator, a notepad utility, and about 30 minutes.

Creation

To get started, you will need to know what you want. You can create items from nothing, or use items you have upgraded to get higher stats. You will lose any original items you use when creating a customized item out of them.

You can change the name, description, and weapon type once the item is first customized, and any other time you do any transfers or stat additions.

Follow the format to the highest accuracy so that your ticket will be easier and faster for the Administrator that is servicing you. If you do not follow the format, your ticket may be delayed until all information is received. The Administrator servicing your custom request ticket may request that you fill in the format at their discretion. The format is used to prevent errors, as the Ice-Eternian Administration has to manually do all the custom requests.

Recustomization

Follow the same format you would follow as though you're making a new item for any recustomizations you may request. Adding stats is pretty simple, all you have to do is request to add 'X' amount of 'Y' Stat to 'Z' Item like the format in the link below shows.
